Amazing action scenes abound throughout, with chase scenes in modified 4X4s being filmed through the Aussie bush. With a cast of up and coming Aussie stars, as well as Ernie Dingo and even Pat Callinan making a cameo, this is a must-see for any red-blooded four-wheel driver.

BEING FIRST IS FOREVER DOCUMENTARY

The year was 1962. The vast sands of the unrelenting Simpson Desert had never been crossed by a motor vehicle. This is the true story of the commemoration of one man’s greatest off-roading feats. The story of intrepid geologist Reg Spring, his family, wife Griselda and children Marg and Doug, and their incredible journey across the endless, unforgiving and merciless Simpson Desert.

The story paints a vivid picture of the original crossing, its trials and tribulations and also features the 2012 50th Anniversary re-enactment crossing expedition, putting into perfect perspective the sheer magnitude of the Spring family’s endeavours and achievements. 

Fifty years after the initial crossing, and driving a restored short-wheelbase G60 Patrol, Doug and Marg Sprigg, who were just six and nine years old on the original journey, make the crossing once more.

Being First Is Forever is a must see documentary, not only for off-roading enthusiasts but for every Australian who has ever dared to dream of conquering the unknown.
